Yet beneath this deceptive appearance lies a completely indulgent chocolate confection, and the surprise is total when you bite into one.<\/p>\n<p>At the heart of each olive is a whole almond (23% of the recipe). First, it is coated in rich and slightly bitter dark chocolate (41%), which envelops the almond in deep cocoa notes. This is followed by a second layer of smooth, creamy white chocolate (33%), which softens the intensity and forms the surface upon which natural colourings create those lifelike olive tones. A hint of Bourbon vanilla subtly binds the layers together. The contrasts unfold beautifully on the palate: the crunch of the almond, the strength of the dark chocolate and the sweetness of the white chocolate, all lifted by a delicate touch of vanilla.<\/p>\n<p>These chocolate olives are a playful nod to Provence, where visual pleasure precedes indulgence.
